And now back to the show.

"The votes have been calculated." The distorted voice of Dr Moreau spoke up. "Today's participants will be." His voice trailed off for a few moments to allow for adequate suspicion. "Andrew and Roland."

As soon as it was announced the elevators those two were in came to life. They went up about four or five floors before letting each of them out into a long hallway. The hallway had a stone floor and there were several banners and flags decorating the hallway. Strangely enough the hallway was lit by torches instead of any modern lightning and the entire thing had a medieval castle fill. In the center of the hallway exactly halfway between the two players was a long rug about twelve feet in length. There were two black lines on each end of the rug about two feet from the end of it. Behind the black line on each side there was a small metal rod only about four inches in length with five buttons on it.

"Please each of you take a stand on the rug behind the lines." Dr. Moreau's voice spoke up. "And retrieve the metal object in your area, you will need it for the experiment."

Roland and Andrew both moved to the rug and retrieved the strange devices. They stared across at each other, the wolf pup holding the small device with both hands having it at the ready while the feral bunny mostly just had to lay down next to his.

"Today's experiment will deal with magic." The voice of Dr. Moreau spoke up. We will be experimenting with what happens when spells come in contact with each other and try to break through another magical source. The instructions for this experiment are simple, you need only press a button and point your device at the other participant. Now, standby for further directions."

As Moreau spoke one of the walls in the room shimmered and vanished revealing a television screen behind it. The instructions for the experiment appeared on the screen as it did.

Continuing our fantasy adventure theme this episode you two will be participating in a wizard's duel. Pointy hats will be provided. As it would take far too properly train you we'll be using we'll be providing you with the super special Electronic Automatic Wand! Or EAW.

The way it works is the wand comes outfitted with exactly five spells on it, you will each choose which spell to cast at each other and then fire them at each other. So there will be five rounds so you can use all five spells. Let's get a breakdown of the spells you'll have.

Animorphism: This allows you to change your opponent's species. It can be used to transform them into an anthro or feral form.

Rejuvenation: This spell restores your opponent's body but does so by returning them to their youth.

Reduction: This spell allows you to shrink your opponent in size.

Counter Spell: This spell reflects your opponent's spell back at them.

Omni: This is your strongest spell, it allows you to cast a spell that's a combination of Animorphism, rejuvenation and reduction. If you wish you  may choose to weaken certain aspects of the spell, such as if you only want the Rejuvenation and Animorphism part but not reduction.

Now, each round you both pick a spell and fire it at each other, what happens then will depend on which spell you each choose. To put it simply, when different magic meets one spell has an advantage.

Animorphism beats reduction but loses to Rejuvenation.

Rejuvenation beats Animorphism but loses to Reduction.

Reduction beats Rejuvenation but loses to Animorphism.

Omni beats every spell except for Counter Spell

Counter Spell beats every spell but has no effect on another counter spell.

When a spell wins it will completely destroy the opponent's spell and the winner will be unaffected by this. Whenever your spell wins you earn a point.

If you both cast the same spell at each other the spells still take effect and neither of you score a point.

If you both cast Counter Spell nothing happens and neither of you score a point.

If you cast Counter Spell and your opponent chooses anything else you win a point.

Remember, each spell can be used exactly once. Think carefully, think about what your opponent has already chosen and what they have left, and then decide what spell to use. Now, let's begin round 1.

Both of you, please select your spell to use.

After a few minutes of displaying the rules the screen changed images. It changed to reflect a simple score board.

Andrew: 0
Roland: 0

Each of the two participants looked at the electronic wand they held and the five buttons on it. It was pretty easy to make out what was what. The Animorphism button had a paw print on it, Rejuvenation showed a leaf and a dewdrop, Reduction showed a large outline next to a smaller one,  Counter Spell was a shield, and Omni just had a picture of the infinity sign.

The experiment had begun.

Roland selected his spell immediately and pointed it at the bunny across from him. Andrew had a little more trouble without actual hands. He had to push in a button with his paws then pick the electronic wand up in his mouth to point it at Roland. Either way the wands did not fire until both had made their selection and pointed it at the other.

Roland casts Rejuvenation!

Andrew cast Reduction!

A beam of blue light fired out from Roland's want while a beam of red light was fired from Andrew's. The beams met exactly halfway between the two, but the red light shot straight through the blue completely dispelling it and struck Roland square in the chest. The spell took effect immediately.  At only a foot and a half the pup was already short, but with the effects of the spell his body dwindled even further. He lost his grip on the wand as it clattered to the floor and the puppy shrunk down to be a size more akin to rodents than canine. In the end he was left only about four and a half inches in height. The wand was now as almost as tall as him. The shrunken puppy slowly picked up the wand. Now it was more a staff than anything else. He could still hold it with two hands and use it effectively, and it could even double as a walking stick. Still, this was troubling as he was even tinier and at a disadvantage for the rest of the fight having lost the first round.

The score updated.

Andrew: 1
Roland: 0

It was time for round two to begin, and both players once more had to choose their spells.

Roland casts Reduction!
Andrew casts Omni!

This time Roland's wand released a beam of red energy aimed for Andrew. However, Andrew's wand hummed with power and short forth a large golden beam that completely filled the side of the room Roland was on. His spell was completely destroyed as Andrew's spell took effect. Roland's body became even younger than it had been previously, dropping down to that of a toddler as he was now no more than two years of age. However, the spell had other effects. Roland's tail became less fluffy as his fur became shorter over his entire body, his ears became triangular and long whiskers sprouted from his face. The small pup had been transformed into a small anthro kitten! Andrew had apparently shown some mercy though as he had neglected to use the shrinking power in the spell as well, and so Roland had only lost an inch in height due to the decrease in age.

The kitten mewled;  the wand that he was using as a staff felt even heavier in his paws now, but he could still wield it.

The score updated.

Andrew: 2
Roland: 0

The third round began, they casts their spells.

Roland casts Counter Spell!
Andrew casts Counter Spell!

Both participants had shining silver spheres appear around them after they selected their spells. However, has both of them had chosen Counter Spell there was no effect and the shields faded after a little bit. This round neither scored a point.

Andrew: 2
Roland: 0

The next round started and both of them had to choose their next spell, each only had two left.

Andrew casts Rejuvenation!
Roland casts Omni!

Andrew's wand released a blue beam of light aimed straight for Roland. However, this time it was Roland's turn to turn the tables. His wand fired an enormous golden beam of energy that completely destroyed Andrew's spell and covered his entire side in a golden alight. When the light cleared, Andrew's body drastically changed. His ears shrunk and became more round, his fur remained white on his body but ceased to cover his paws. His hind paws shrunk in size and his cotton tail gave way to a much longer wormlike tail. He had been transformed into a mouse! However, that wasn't all the spell did. His body shrunk, a lot. It shrunk from being turned into a mouse, shrunk from him being reduced in age by the spell, and shrink because the Omni spell also included a shrinking spell. The combined effects of the spell left Andrew as a feral mouse no bigger than a third of an inch in length. Not only that, but he was also younger. Had he been an anthro he would have been identified as a five year old.

Andrew: 2
Roland: 1

The final round was about to begin, both contestants only had one spell left they could cast. Roland prepared his spell the same as he did the other, Andrew on the other hand wasn't even large enough to lift the wand. Instead he had to climb on top of it, jump up and down on top of the button and then jump off it and push on the wand with all his might to make sure it was pointing at Roland. Both of them casted their final spell.

Andrew casts Animorphism!
Roland casts Animorphism!

Both wands fired out beams of green energy, they met in the center of the room, paused for a brief moment, and then both spelled passed through each other. Both contestants were hit!

Roland dropped onto all fours as he was hit, his body structure only changed slightly, his paws were a bit bigger on him, but he was still a toddler, and still feline. However his fur changed color, taking on a dark golden color with black spots over his entire body. Roland had been transformed into a feral jaguar cub, only still no bigger than a mouse.

Andrew's change was a little more drastic, but not by much. His fur turned brown and grew in over his paws, as well as over his tail which shrunk slightly. There were also darker patches of fur forming strikes that ran down his backside. His ears remained rounded but shrunk in proportion to his head while his body grew ever so slightly in size to half an inch in length. He had transformed into a chipmunk, and was still a feral.

The final score displayed.

Andrew: 2
Roland: 1

Andrew had won the experiment.

"Mrooowl! Rawr mrrrowl!" Roland shouted something in feline at Andrew.

"Squeak! Squeak squeak!" Andrew replied in his own chipmunk language.

The two went back and forth having some kind of exchange but no one watching at home would ever be treated to the full thing. Eventually, both of them finally got tired, and slowly worked their ways back to the elevators they came in on. The elevators went back down to the ground floor. As they did the front lobby changed. Two metal plates on the back wall rose into the ceiling revealing a set of wooden doors that opened up revealing a long hallway. At the end of it the way out was cut off by another metal plate, there was no going any further tonight without a keycard.

Roland hadn't even gotten out of his elevator before Lurker was there and snatched him up by the tail.

"Mrowl rawr!" Roland objected to such rough treatment.

"Relax." Maury spoke up. "He's just ensuring you make it on time to the boat. If we have you walk you may not make it on time. Though really, considering the shape you've all left in so far, paying for a full boat seems like a waste of money. I mean, it seems more cost efficient to just stick you in a bottle, cork the bottle and throw it out to sea."

"MROOOOWL!" Roland clearly had problems with that idea.

"Oh relax." Maury dismissed the shouting cub. "Legal would never okay it. Now then, you all have had a rather rough day, the seven of you that remain, I highly suggest you get some sleep. It won't get any easier from here."

At this point the video feed cut to the confession booth.

Kaevon was in the commission book, and the squirrel staring at the camera with a little bit of uncertainty, as if he wasn't quite sure how to start.

"So, I'm just going to be-huh. This booth is a lot bigger than I thought..." Kaevon looked around, suddenly losing his train of thought. Quickly, he shook his head and brought his somewhat short attention span back to the task at hand: A confessional. "Right, focus. Anyway, I'm just going to be frank here. Games like this? No one comes out unchanged. Erm...that's quite a bit more of a pun than I really..." He paused again, scratching his head as the realization struck. "But seriously, the strange sense of camaraderie that we all feel in these challenges...how much of it does Maury want to happen and how much of it is sincere? What Tyreese said has been stuck in my mind for a while now, and I think we all need to be careful." The tiny squirrel tried to move closer to the camera, falling off of his chair with a soft crash. A bit of grumbling could be heard, claws scratching before his face appeared larger than before, right in front of the view-screen. "I have the feeling Maury's hiding something in plain sight, and we're all going to find out come the last week of this show. Someone like that doesn't just start a contest like this for no reason. So, to everyone on this island...watch your backs, for Maury and each other. And to everyone watching at home...um...hi." He nodded, pushing against the camera as his body flew through the air, landing on the chair. Kaevon just sat there for a moment, dramatically staring at the camera before he suddenly started smiling. Some faint mumbling could be heard off camera, drawing his attention suddenly. A few nods, some shifting, and a quick laugh came from the squirrel, though the subject couldn't be heard. "Yeah, that sounds good. I'd really love a sandwich when I get back home, and...wait, is this thing still o-" The camera cut off.

It cut from the confession booth to night time. The remaining contestants on the island were sound asleep in their cabins, but not everyone was asleep tonight. Out in the desert where the tower had stood there was now a large empty space of land. It had vanished from sight. However, next to where it had been there was a large hole in the ground where something had struck down and made a huge impact. Right now, Maury was standing leaning on his cane and looking at the hole as if waiting. A few seconds passed, and then a red furred hand shot out from the hole, and a figure climbed out. It was the six tailed fox, no worse from the wear though quite agitated about what had happened.

"Oh good you're up." Maury spoke. "It would have been quite inconvenient if you had died on me."

"Eh, you?" The six tailed fox climbed to his feet after he had gotten out of the hole. "I get it, you're the one behind this manipulation. Strange, I don't recall such machinations being your forte? No, you're not who you appear to be." The fox snarled and held out a hand as a sword appeared in it and he leaped for Maury. "Do you believe you can steal our legacy!?"

It was one quick motion, Maury had side stepped the other fox, spin his cane around and struck the fox squarely with the end of it in the chest and pinned him to the ground.

"Really now, it's my legacy too." Maury spoke. "Ashamed you don't recognize me, but then again, I suppose someone of my caliber was beneath your notice."

"What are you?" The six tailed fox started to ask and then his eyes widened with realization. "YOU! I see, now it makes sense, but how?"

"Oh, you will find the answer to that very, very soon." Maury replied with a predatory smile. "But don't worry, I'm going to give you a present that you've wanted for a long time. I'll give you your freedom from this place, but it has a past." Maury shoved his cane down harder in the other fox's chest causing it to let out a scream in pain. As it did, Maury himself started to change, but only slightly. A new tail had sprouted, and in a few moments Maury had grown a sixth tail. He removed his cane from the other fox who at this point was unable to be seen, a strange cloud had covered his entire body when Maury changed.

Maury took a few steps away from the other fox shrouded in a cloud and held out his hand that wasn't holding his cane. A second later a large greatsword appeared in it. He swung it once and it turned into a dagger, held it out and it transformed into a hammer.

"Ah yes, this will do nicely. It wasn't easy arranging for this to happen you know. Well, I have what I require, enjoy your freedom. You've earned it." Maury walked off back towards the beach of the island not even turning to face the other fox he had left behind.

Several hours later Maury had returned to his own private cabin and retired for the night. The camp was completely silent, but a figure was watching it. Hiding in the forest a single animal stood and watched the camp with some form of interest. It was a fox, but just an ordinary feral one. No multiple tails, no strange design, just a normal fox. After a few moments it turned and fled into the forest.
